The article is devoted to overview essence and structure of future music teacher’s artistic tolerance phenomenon. In the paper highlights three main aspects: declared subjects and objects of artistic tolerance; determined the three of future music teacher’s artistic tolerance criteria; defined the list of indexes which characterized formed artistic tolerance. We understand the artistic tolerance of future music teacher as a result of understanding of other personality or his feelings during the internal dialogue with an artist, an audience, an imagery, a composer, culture etc. We have specified the following components of artistic tolerance: cognitive component (awareness, flexibility and critical thinking, self-development), motivational and volitional component (empathy, perception, assuredness, harmony, autonomy, ethics), creative component (social skills, experience of communication with art works, experience of music performing, positive self-analysis, divergence, pluralism, musicality, artistry, ambition). It should be noted that future music teacher’s artistic tolerance is not distinguishable from other varieties (pedagogical, communicative, cultural etc.) and develops a close relationship with them. Thus, tolerance formation is an important component of training the future music teachers.
