Анотація
The article considers the research competence of a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature as an integrated personal and professional quality of a specialist, which reflects the motivation for scientific research, the level of mastery of the methodology of pedagogical research, personally significant qualities of the researcher, in particular, such as innovative thinking, the ability to creative and innovative activity. The formulation of the problem is due to the need to adapt the national education system to new requirements arising in the conditions of globalization and European integration. The author emphasizes the importance of integrating a competency-based approach into teacher training programs, which contributes to the development of critical thinking and analytical skills. The article analyzes the main challenges faced by teachers, such as the insufficient number of comprehensive modules on research methodologies, limited access to modern research materials, and the gap between theory and practice. The study also emphasizes the importance of academic freedom, proclaimed by the Law of Ukraine "On Education", which ensures the autonomy of participants in the educational process. An important aspect is the formation of research competence as an integrated personal and professional quality, which includes motivation for scientific research and mastery of the methodology of pedagogical research. The article contains recommendations for improving the professional competence of teachers through participation in scientific research, professional training and the use of modern technologies. The conclusions confirm that the development of research competence of teachers is a key factor in ensuring high quality education in Ukraine. In addition, attention is focused on the need to create conditions for self-education of teachers, which will allow them to constantly improve their knowledge and skills. The development of professional communities that will facilitate the exchange of experience and support of colleagues in their professional growth is also important. Thanks to these measures, we can expect an improvement in the quality of teaching the Ukrainian language and literature, as well as an increase in students' motivation for learning and independent research.
